Nemesis

Our last night in Yellowstone this past summer proved to be my undoing.  We had not expected clear skies, but once again, the park proved us wrong.  When we got to the bottom of Norris Geyser Basin the skies were clear and the steamy air was nearly balmy.  As usual I trekked a little beyond the rest of the group and set up to shoot from a different angle than everyone else..

Although I was pleased with the images I was able to capture, it was the climb out of the basin that was my nemesis.  The very upward hike established that I am, indeed, that former athlete “gone to seed.”  I will always be grateful for the breaks we took on the way back up that hill, but I will definitely get to work on the shape I’m in before I try this again!
