The Ingalls family moved all their worldly possessions from Minnesota to Kansas in a wagon much like this one. While they had no small town light pollution to guide their way, they night sky above them was the same as we see today. The well lit horizon here is due to small towns 20 and 30 miles away from the site of Kansas' Little House on the Prairie Museum.
