Skunked

I am unaccustomed to the sight that greeted me as I approached the evening’s shooting location - Skunk! Surprisingly graceful, the furry not-so-little thing made its way deliberately across the road, paused briefly, then disappeared into the shadows - and, thankfully, stayed there!

Just beyond the skunk’s path a small weathered barn leaned with rustic charm toward the arching expanse of the Milky Way. The ribbon of light was clearly visible in the vast, clear sky, though light pollution from far off towns cast a warm glow over the horizon below.

The wonders of nature and the forgotten beauty of human structures - unique elements blended together to remind us of the harmony between the natural and the man-made.
